Fleish Tunnel
This project on the California/Nevada border consists of establishing a laydown area and staging yard and driving a 17-foot diameter drill and blast tunnel 1,145 feet long through granite. Tunnel support is with rock bolts and shotcrete. Spiling, steel ribs, and shotcrete were used in a 46’ long reach of glacial till.
